CLOSE TO HEAVEN in the International Competition of DOK Leipzig 2010

Congratulations! CLOSE TO HEAVEN by Titus Faschina got chosen by the commission of DOK Leipzig, the International Festival for Documentary and Animation, to be shown in the International Competition.
The appointed time for the screening is:
Tuesday, 19th october at 8 p.m. and
Thursday, 21th october at 11 a.m.
The award ceremony takes place on Saturday, 23th october.

MY JOY shortlisted for the European Film Awards 2010

We are happy to announce that MY JOY by Sergei Losnitza got shortlisted for the European Film Awards 2010. The final nominations of the individual categories are going to be released on november the 6th in Sevilla, the prize-giving will take place on december, the 4th in Tallinn.

MY JOY tells the story of truck driver Georgi which seems to be a never-ending nightmare, a spiral of violence and abuses of power. A man goes to work and on his way he is sucked into the everday madness of his country, losing his health and memory in the process and ends up as a murderer. A impressive parable about the situation in Russia today.
MY JOY is the feature film debut of the well known award-winning Ukrainian documentary filmmaker Sergei Loznitsa, who lives in Germany.

The premiere of Altiplano by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth takes place in Dresden on the 24th of June, 8 pm at the Dresdner Rundkino and on the 25. June, 8 pm in Berlin, Cinema Hackesche Höfe. MY JOY wins awards in Sochi

MY JOY by Sergei Loznitsa won two of the main awards Prize for Best Direction and Prize of the Guild of Russian Film Scholars and Film Critics at the 21. KINOTAVR Film Festival in Sochi, Russia.

The festival took place from 6. to 13. of June 2010.
