We are happy to announce that MY JOY by Sergei Loznitsa is screened as German contribution in the competition of the 63. International Cannes Film Festival. MY JOY tells the story of truck driver Georgi which seems to be a never-ending nightmare, a spiral of violence and abuses of power. A man goes to work and on his way he is sucked into the everday madness of his country, losing his health and memory in the process and ends up as a murderer. A impressive parable about the situation in Russia today. MY JOY is the feature film debut of the well known award-winning Ukrainian documentary filmmaker Sergei Loznitsa, who lives in Germany.
A feature film by Sergei Loznitsa. ma.ja.de. fiction in co-production with Sota Cinema Group (UA), Lemming Film (NL) and ZDF in association with Arte.
