„Georg“ is the second part in a series of autobiographical films by Caterina Klusemann which deal with German-Jewish identity and the ritual of remembering. The film takes up the trail of the director‘s father, an artist and bon vivant who studied at the Dusseldorf Academy of Arts during the wild 1960s. After meeting Elena, a woman with a Jewish background, he goes to Italy with her where they live with her mother, a Holocaust survivor. But when he finds himself having to face to up Germany‘s history, Klusemann takes flight. Just before his breakthrough in the art world, he dies in Italy aged just 38 years old.
