Around the globe, there is a massive commercial rush for farmland – the new green gold. Side effects are felt amongst hundreds of thousands of people in developing countries.
In famine struck Ethiopia, the government leases millions of hectares of land to foreign investors, in hope of export revenues. But the dream of prosperity has a dark side – the most massive forced evictions in modern history, a vicious spiral of violence. Dark days for freedom of speech.
Contributing to this disaster is billions in development money, from institutions like the World Bank.
Dead Donkeys Fear No Hyenas rapidly develops into a thriller, leading from the most remote corners of Ethiopia, through the global financial metropolises, and ultimately, back to ourselves.
